W-T Communication Design and Structural Engineering Receives Software Training
Over a two day period in early July, W-T Communication Design Group (W-T CDG) and W-T Structural Engineering took part in a training seminar for tnxTower, a powerful software program designed specifically for the telecommunications industry.
According to Tower Numerics website, "tnxTower can analyze and design 3-and 4-sided guyed and self-supporting towers and either round or tapered ground mounted poles with or without guys. tnxTower contains unique features such as True Cable behavior, hog rod take-up, foundation stiffness and much more. tnxTower may export complete model files to RISA-3D for added analysis and design flexibility.
The training was provided by Structural Components out of Boulder, Colorado and focused on the structural aspects of tower design. After this session, our groups have gained advanced skill of making effective and maximum use of tnxTower's various features that will help us deliver favorable designs to our clients in least amount of time.
The training provided our groups the knowledge of various tricks and tips to derive maximum capacity from the existing towers. Various new reinforcement options and their design methods were also taught and brainstormed. W-T CDG and Structural Components have decided to stay in touch with each other to discuss future tnxTower features, new building codes and use of other software like MathCAD to help us provide our clients economical and easy-to-construct reinforcement designs.
This type of commitment to staying state-of-the-art has continually allowed the W-T Family of Companies to remain current and competitive as engineering has progressed. We look forward to utilizing this software to persistently provide our clients with first class service.
