W-T Attends the Children's Advocacy Center Gala 2015

Apr 2015

The Children’s Advocacy Center, Chicago, held their annual Gala at the beautiful Medinah Country Club in Medinah, IL on April 25th.  During the evening, as several W-T employees were in attendance, guests were able to purchase raffle tickets, bid on many wonderful silent auction items, and try to outbid each other in a live auction featuring gourmet chef experiences, vacation retreats, and golf excursions. This black tie event, filled with good food and entertainment, was a great success helping to raise funds and support to prevent and raise awareness of child abuse in our neighboring communities.

Beginning in 1988, the Children’s Advocacy Center was created to help protect and relieve children who were victims of physical, sexual, and mental abuse.

“Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center is the city’s only not-for-profit organization that brings together law enforcement professionals, child protection staff, family advocates, medical experts and mental health clinicians under one roof to address alleged abuse, reduce trauma and provide resources so that children and families may begin the healing process.”

W-T Engineering and its Family of companies is proud to say we are a believer and supporter in all of the wonderful things CAC does for the children in ourcommunities. Donating and attending the event, we received a priceless gift of daisies at the gala pictured here. The significance of these daisies is in the simple clay pot they are resting in. This pot was hand painted by a child cared for by the Children’s Advocacy Center. Entering the center as a victim, the child responsible for our flower pot is now being protected and encouraged along the road to overcome their trauma. From their generous donations, the CAC is able to help prevent child abuse and treat those who have suffered in hopes to eventually break the cycle.

You can find more information here at the Children’s Advocacy Center web site and see what you can do to help.
